REGIONAL WORKSHOPS
It’s our mission to give young people living with disability a voice on issues that are important to them. As part of this work EYDN is developing a series of regional workshops to:
- gain feedback on the issues facing young people living with disability in country areas, and
- increase their capacity and skills to live a great life!
In 2021 young people living with disability were recruited to design and run these workshops with the support of the EYDN team. Together we developed relevant content for workshops and began building relationships with young people living with disability, their families and service providers in regional areas.
Three workshops, with the theme of digital storytelling and advocacy, are now ready to roll out in Mt Gambier, Berri and Pt Pirie!
If you are you living with a disability and aged 14-35, come along to learn about your rights and how you can use social media to create change!
You can also hear from youth guest presenters with lived experience and meet other young people in the Mt Gambier area.
Presenters include, lawyer, Natalie Wade and youth disability advocates Jamila Main, Bethany Cody and Lauren Spear!
